Yahoo is shutting down Delcious. That is good reason to move your bookmarks to Getwapps (link). Currently we are working on Delicious bookmarks import wizard, but until it is completed you can easily setup your account, set the background, create your public page and make everything read for one click import

After few months of hard work we are back with plenty of new features. When we introduced Getwapps beta version, many of you have send us tweets and mails what would you like to see in the new version. Most desired features were some kind of possibility to share your list of favorite links, profile personalization, more integration with popular social networks… We did all that and more. What is new in this version read below.
Personalize your account
Now you can add a personal touch to your Getwapps profile with the custom backgrounds and colors. You can choose among 16 predefined background, or upload your own. If you are uploading your own we recommend you to upload image at least 1920×1080 screen resolution (yeah, same as Twitter, maybe you can choose some of the zillions of twitter backgrounds 
) so your background would be displayed nice on all screen resolutions.
Public profile
You can make every list of your favorite links public. What does that mean? It means that when somebody is looking at your profile (yes, now people can see your profile, and yes, backgrounds come handy here, but more about that in few seconds) he will see your lists, your favorite links. We consider this feature to be the best solution for sharing bunch of links.
Also it is a great feature if you have profiles on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, if you are writing blog and etc. Just put links to those public lists so everyone can explore them from one place. Or make a list for your special interest, for example if you love geography – make a public list with links to great geography sites and share it with everyone, so they can easily find out about those pages
Imagine now Getwapps as the place where people can find out more about you, who you are and what you do. And did we mention it already that you can set up a profile image?
People page
Of course, you will not be the only one customizing your profile and making your lists public. Other will do that too (we really hope they’ll do ) You can find those people on People page. This feature is still in beta, but with growth of people having public profile we will be introducing new features like searching profiles by interest, popular profiles, featured profiles and… you got the idea.

These days sharing content among social sites is must have feature. We added share option on links, list and profiles. You can share your links, lists, profiles on Facebook, Twitter, Google Buzz and by email.
Among those new features we also improved some old ones. We improved lists reordering by adding drag and drop feature, we made adding new favorite links even easier, got new web site snapshot engine (now flash sites are no longer problem), replaced email activation with email welcome mail, in wStore we added better suggest site feature and great number of little upgrades that will take too long to mention them all, but we are thinking about them .

After almost two months of private beta where limited number of users were testing Getwapps, we are happy to announce that Getwapps is now available for everyone. Based on test users’ feedback we added some cool new features, improved existing and even dropped out some that we thought that people will use, but the results prove us different.
From this release on, all items in quick list can be reordered by simple drag and drop operations. It is also possible to drag item from one quick list and drop it to another. Quick list are still divided into two lists: center screen with visual list that contains visual thumb representation of web content and the smaller right side positioned mini list with textual link to web content. Now mini list contains only items that are not displayed in the visual list.
Also, we added chat feature. Yes, and we are going to be social networking ready. We did not create our own chat solution, we integrated Getwapps with Meebo chat service. With Meebo chat service Getwapps users got possibility to connect with all their friends, no matter where they do their instant messaging. Meebo lets users access their buddies on all the major networks (AIM, Yahoo!, MSN, Google Talk, ICQ and Jabber) in a single buddylist. Drawback with this solution is that users must open account at Meebo in order to use chat. We are working on integration to skip this step and provide authentication with Getwapps account.
So, what did we drop out? We dropped out quick launch, feature where users could by hitting right key number open corresponding web content. No one seemed to use that, so it is out. Web content’s edit menu is redesigned so it could be used on a touch screen devices (you are probably guessing on what we are thinking ).
Existing users will notice some user interface tweaks and performance improvements. Our goal is to create Getwapps as simple as possible so we are spending lots of time searching for the best user experience. We want Getwapps to be intuitive for the new web users and for the “professionals” at the same time and this is not an easy task to accomplish. So far we think that we are driving in the right direction.

Getwapps launched private beta phase on 25th November 2009. Private beta brings many great features in order to provide everyone the best central place for discovering, organizing and accessing web applications.
In order provide maximum quality of service, we must limit number of users for the first month, so Getwapps can be currently joined only with invitation. Everyone can request invitation through Getwapps sign up page. We will try to provide as many invitations as possible. Every person who recieves the invitation can also forward that invitation to his/her friends. After private beta phase we will launch public beta that will be available for everyone.

You can add new quick list on two ways:
1. From the Quick list page
Click on Add link on the lists toolbar, enter new quick list name and press enter or just click outside the text box.
2. From Settings page
Click on Quick list settings tab, enter the new quick list name in text box and press enter or just click on the Add button (plus sign).
